The island of Kalymnos Greece is rich in picturesque villages where time seems to have stopped and hours are dropping pleasantly and quietly. Some villages boarding the wonderful coast and others are hanging on the slopes of verdant mountains. The beaches on Kalymnos Greece are very beautiful. Some are extending over kilometres while other are nestled in small, secluded coves. With golden sand or smooth pebbles, all the beaches of the island have mirror-like waters varying on a rich palette of blue.
Following the beach road you can visit the Church Of Christ (or Saviour). Its temple is the work of a well know sculptor of Tinos Island, Giannouli Chalepa and its mural paintings were carried out by local painters. The beautiful buildings and green background complete the islandís image. At the dock the small touristic shops filled with sponges highlight Kalymnos character. The processing sponge workshops are worth visiting. If you have time to spare then the Archaeological Ė Folklore Museum is also worth visiting
